I was skeptical, but the image quality is excellent. Good bargain for the price.

I love solar viewing, and I have a solar telescope. I wanted something portable for the upcoming eclipse. Just got these, and tried them out. I’m very pleased with the quality, and the sun looks superb. A nice yellow-orange color as opposed to the white image from other solar binoculars. I was able to make out a sunspot too. These are exactly what I need for the eclipse. Highly recommend.

I was a little scared to look directly at the sun, even when using the Sunoculars, but when I did it, everything was pitch black until I actually saw the sun, which was bright enough to see, but not at all uncomfortable. Watching the eclipse with them was a lot of fun, and even after doing it for an hour and 45 minutes, my eyesight is not in the least bit impaired. I have some eye fatigue but that happens any time I look through binoculars for a significant length of time. The sun appeared orange, and the moon passing over it was solid black, so there’s no contrast problems. We had 79% coverage here, and you couldn’t really tell without the glasses, but with the glasses it was clear as day. There were people outside my office building literally lining up to use them. For 2024 however, I’m buying the full size ones.

Worked great. I got to watch the eclipse on Aug 21st 2017. I had no problems finding the sun with these my dad did but he eventually found it and got to see the eclipse as well. Now I am just waiting for the 2024 eclipse where I will be in the path of totality. I also plan to use these to see sunspots. They are a bit hard to hold still but eventually you get the hang of how to hold them to keep them still.

These are great! I took them to see the eclipse, and strangers kept asking to use them bc they heard how neat they were. I could see different shades of color swirling around like clouds! It was really amazing to actually see the surface of the sun and see the movement. You do need to get a method down for locating the sun since the binoculars are zoomed in, but luckily it was almost directly overhead when I was looking, which made it easier to find.

These worked well during the eclipse. Everyone wanted to borrow them. Cell phone photos through one barrel were not amazing, but they were better photos than those taken through the regular glasses. I look forward to having them on hand whenever there may be solar flares or other visible activity, and for the next eclipse.
