As a modern metropolis in North Texas, Dallas is known for its many landmarks. From the lush botanical gardens to the exotic world-class aquarium, Dallas is an amazing place to watch the forthcoming total solar eclipse of 2024. So once you’ve marked your calendars for April 8th, take an afternoon to visit one of these five amazing landmarks in and around Dallas. And be prepared with your solar glasses.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

The botanical gardens have over 66-acres of grounds, including 19 sub-gardens.  Impressively, these gardens range from beautiful local and wildflowers to expansive lands of greenery. It’s a great place to host an outdoor concert or to go for a picnic. The fountains and lake located within the gardens present a view of the downtown Dallas skyline, the perfect spot for seeing the solar eclipse of 2024. Just make sure to stay clear of the trees or else you may risk a blocked view of the sun.

Dallas World Aquarium and Zoo

This attraction functions as an aquarium and a zoo, housing various endangered species. Surprisingly, the exhibits vary from aviaries with rare birds, to rainforests with impressive enclosures for reptiles. It’s an ideal location for all those animal lovers who want to snuggle up with adorable crocodiles to witness the solar eclipse of 2024!

Reunion Tower

The ‘Reunion Tower’ is a 561 ft. tall landmark, overlooking the city of Dallas. Although at the time of its completion in 1978 it functioned as a radio station, this elegant and captivating tower is now home to observation decks and high-quality restaurants. The ‘Five Sixty’ (a restaurant owned by a celebrity chef), coupled with a view of the solar eclipse of 2024 is sure to make you say “ooh la la.”

Dealey Plaza

Infamously referred to as “the birthplace of Dallas,” the plaza functions as a city park. Infamously, it’s also the location where the U.S. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. Dealey Plaza is a bustling center for tourists and shoppers. Notably, with its obvious historical value, it’s become a hot spot attraction for people everywhere. White Rock Lake

White Rock Lake is an old reservoir created in 1910 due to a water shortage in Dallas. It later began to function as a recreational lake for the city dwellers and suburbanites alike. Furthermore, the lake now offers various activities including sailing, kayaking, canoeing, and standup paddle boarding.  Most importantly, the lake is even surrounded by a trail for hiking, running and bicycling. So start planning that hiking trip with your friends to witness the solar eclipse of 2024 from atop a beautiful hill.
